Philosophy

Xing has carved out a unique style of movement which challenges a dancer’s typical ideas and pushes both themselves and their art form forward. These classes are designed to target dancers of all levels as well as fitness enthusiasts. Xing has worked with many of today’s artists and has set works with various companies around the world. Xing’s dance and strength training classes help individuals to articulate the connection between all types of movement from classical to the most contemporary styles.


"To dance is to connect your mind with your body.  In my classes, we focus our thoughts to only one movement at a time.  By doing this, not only do we strengthen our bodies, but we become more mindful of the signals our body is sending our brains all of the time. 


I welcome dancers of all ages and ranges of experience and ability.  My classes combine Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Contemporary and Ballet forms to create something unique, challenging, and rewarding.  Anyone, with any level of fitness or experience, can benefit from my classes.  My goal is to make my style of movement available to anyone.I believe strongly that everyone can dance, so  I tailor my classes to best suit the individual dancers who come to me.  I incorporate exercises to rehabilitate injuries, build strength and flexibility, and encourage an awareness of the journey that is the body’s movement from one dance form to another."
